Second Lieutenant Emily E. Turner was born in Starkville, Mississippi on 13 December 1995. She attended Mississippi State University (MSU) from 2014-2019 in Starkville, Mississippi and graduated with a Bachelors of Architecture and a minor in English.
She received her commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in March 2020 following her completion of Officer Candidate School Class 233. She immediately reported to The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia and graduated in April of 2021 from Basic Officer Course 6-20. Upon graduation, Second Lieutenant Turner was assigned the MOS of 0601 and reported to Marine Corps Communications Electronics School (MCCES) in Twentynine Palms, California for the Basic Communications Officers Course. While awaiting training, she was assigned as an Action Officer for Charlie Company in the Air Control Training Squadron, MCCES.
Second Lieutenant Turner is married to Bailey McDaniel, and they have a rescue dog named Delilah.
