Innovation Showcase: Defense Spending Trends in San Diego

Funded by the DOD's Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA), San Diego Regional EDC conducted extensive survey work and research of San Diego County's defense supply chain. The results of the study provide historical trends on defense spending in San Diego and point to opportunities and challenges for defense contractors large and small operating in the area. Eduardo Velasquez and Jesse Gipe will present the finding of this research and discuss new programs that are being rolled out in 2018 to help defense contractors operating in San Diego become more competitive. This effort known as Propel San Diego will be offering new data tools to facilitate teaming, funds to decrease regulatory compliance costs, as well as additional services to San Diego based defense contractors over the next 18 months.
